    PRODUCER WELCOME PAGE FOR 2010

02/04/2010

Welcome to the 168!

Everything form you need to have or turn in is explained below.  Please feel free to call our office if you have any questions.  818.557.8507

NOTE: Click on the form to download it

1)       2010 Entry Form and Agreement – Most of you should already have this filled out and turned in.  If you haven’t, you will not get your verse unless this form is signed and turned in. (MANDATORY DOCUMEENT THAT NEEDS TO BE TURNED IN)

2)       Crew-Actor Documentary Release – This form gives us permission to use your cast’s or crew’s images (from both in front and behind the camera) in any projects we make later for the 168 (like a documentary).  In the past we had 3 forms to do this but we’ve now boiled them all into one MEGA form.   If you don’t turn in this form, you’re film will not screen.  (MANDATORY DOCUMEENT THAT NEEDS TO BE TURNED IN)

3)       What’s New for 2010 – This form just gives you a quick rundown on the major changes we’ve made for the 168 this year.

4)       168 Turn In Specs for Macs version 2.0 If you are using Final Cut to edit your film, this form explains what formats we accept.  If you got this email earlier this week, please disregard the old version I sent you.

5)       168 Exporting a QT file from an AVID projectThis form explains how you are supposed to export your files from AVID.

5a) Exporting a QT file from a Premiere Pro Project - This form explains how you are supposed to export your files fromm Premiere.

6)       Dos and Don’ts – There is some good advice from producers who have done the 168 in the past.

7)       Producer Resource 2010 – (SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TEAMS ONLY) You will find a list of vendors in the LA area who are friends of the 168.  Many offer great deals to the 168 family…so open it up and start calling.  You could save a lot of money using this list.

8)       FAQs 2010 – In this document you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions.  Please look it over.

9)       The Ten Minute Bible Study – This document outlines a technique for studying the bible verse you’ll be getting in the next week or so.  Please use it as it will really help you get to the intended meaning of the verse of the original author.

10)   Producers Statement of Compliance 2010 – you need to look over this document and hold a “safety meeting” with your crew on the first day on the set.  It’s common sense but we need you to read it, sign it and fax it to us if you don’t live in the LA area.   (MANDATORY DOCUMEENT THAT NEEDS TO BE TURNED IN)

11)   Preliminary Information Sheet – If you planning on doing a SAG film, this is the form you first submit to SAG.  Normally you have to submit this 3 weeks in advance, but SAG now just requires you get this in as soon as you can.  They’ll do their best work with your tight time tables.

12)   SAG Statement of Compliance – If you are doing a SAG film, you need to sign this document and turn it into us if you want your SAG film to be on the Best of DVD.  We are not guaranteeing you’ll be on the DVD, but I do guarantee you won’t be on it if you don’t sign this form.

13)   Producers Casting Request Form 2010 - (ONLY FOR SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TEAMS) you need to fill this out and get it to us right away.  We will not have spots for all producers who want a casting room in the afternoon…so please sign up now to reserve your spot on our Casting Day.  If you have no idea what I’m talking about…I’ll explain what this is in more details below.

14)   Team Turn In List – This lists all the forms you’ll have fun filling out and turning in.  Memorize it….love it!

15) Composer Certificate of Originality - You need to turn this form in if you havea composer produce music during the “production week”.  If you use premade music or your composer produces the music outside of “production week” you don’t need this form. Only music that has been produced during “production week” will be eligible for awards. NOT REQUIRED

16) Composer / Musician Release – You need to have the rights to use the music in your film.  REQUIRED FOR ENTRY

17) Writer’s Contract – You need the rights from the writer if you are going toproduce his script.  If you are the producer and the writer…you do not need to turn in this form.  REQUIRED IF PRODUCER NOT THE WRITER.

18) Actor Release   &  Crew Release – Aside from turning in the Crew/Actor Documentary release for the 168…you might want to have your own Crew and Actor releases for your film.  You won’t need to turn these in, but on a regular production, you’d need these. NOT REQUIRED BUT GOOD IDEA TO USE.

19) Extra Release – If you have background players or “extras” in your film, you need to get them to sign this form. REQUIRED FOR ENTRY

20) Minor Release – If you use kids in your film, you will need this release form. REQUIRED FOR ENTRY IF YOU HAVE KIDS IN FILM.

21) Location Agreement – Unless you own the location yourself, you should get a release from the owner of the locations you are using. REQUIRED FOR ENTRY

23) General Public Release – You need to post this sign up at the location you are shooting at if you cannot control the flow of human traffic.

24) Film footage release – You can use up to 90 seconds of stock footage in your film.  If you do, you need to use this form to get permission.  REQUIRED IF YOU USE STOCK FOOTAGE.
