Robert Kirbyson Directs CTRL for NBC

06/12/2009

168 Alumni Robert Kirbyson is busy these days.  In addition to writing and directing all episodes of the Steve McEveety-produced family comedy "Snowmen,"
NBC Universal and Nestea have given him the nod for  "CTRL" a new web series based on Kirbyson's short film "CTRL Z,"  which was staffed mostly by 168 Film Project veterans.  Also, Keystone Entertainment has enlisted Kirbyson to write an untitled feature-length screenplay to be distributed by Disney.  Congrats Robert!

168 veterans on the "Ctrl Z" crew include producers Lisa Carrell (Harvest) & Marlo Pettigrew ("Free of Charge") as well as 168 alumni Cliff Jones, Drew Stanfield, Rich Riehl, Brandon Lippard, Becca Bennett, Jen Booth, David Girgis, Darren Johnston, Cat Jahnke, and Joel Veenstra.  "Ctrl Z" was shot in a single day on a shoestring budget entirely on location at the former home of the 168, Lake Avenue Church

"I'm so thankful for the 168 Film Project," said Robert, "Within weeks of moving to Los Angeles, it helped me get connected to other Christian professionals who have become long-term friends and collaborators.  Most of the crew on my new film were people I've worked with on 168 projects, or wanted to work with after seeing their films at the festival."
